HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?

Permanent cosmetics last a long time, but not forever. As you become accustomed to your new makeup it's not uncommon to want more definition or more color. You will want to freshen up your look every couple of years. The darker the original color, the longer it will remain unchanged. Lighter, natural, delicate colors are often times more vulnerable to the effects of sun and chlorine, and breakdown by the body's natural responses over time.

HOW LONG WILL A SET OF EYELASH EXTENSIONS LAST?

A full set of lashes will last 2-3 weeks before getting a fill. Your natural lashes shed on its own so by the 2-3 week mark at least 50% of the lash extensions will shed and would need for a refill to have them full again.

CAN I APPLY MASCARA TO EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

You can apply mascara as long as it is oil free but the point of getting extensions is to not have yo wear mascara anymore.

CAN I SWIM, SHOWER, EXERCISE, OR VISIT A SPA WHILE WEARING EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

We do ask you to minimize the chance of wetting the extensions for the first 48 hours of wear. After that 48-hour period, the adhesive used to apply your eyelash extensions is secure enough to allow you to get right back to your routine. However, keeping away from extensive contact with steam such as in saunas or certain facials is not recommended since it can begin to loosen the bond.

HOW SOON CAN I WASH MY FACE AFTER THE EXTENSIONS ARE APPLIED?

Wait 24 hours to get them wet, steam, sweat, etc.

HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY NEW EYELASH EXTENSIONS?

Avoid getting lashes wet for the first 24-48 hours.
Brush with a clean mascara wand daily.
TIP: Sometimes mornings are a mess! Try washing your lashes with water in the morning and gently brushing the top side of the extensions with a finger placed beneath.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO APPLY EYELASH EXTENSIONS AND HOW IS IT DONE?

Initial for full set takes about 1.5-2 hours and every appointment after that will take about an hour for the fill.

HOW DO I CHOOSE THE LOOK I WANT?

Your technician will consult with you to understand what type of style you are interested in and what look will work best with your natural lashes. The overall look of the lashes can range from very natural to very voluminous!

DO I HAVE TO DO ANYTHING TO PREPARE FOR THE SERVICE?

To remove any eye makeup, use an oil-free makeup remover to cleanse your lashes prior to the appointment as well to remove any leftover mascara. Lashes should not be permed or manually curled at the time of appointment.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I CHOOSE TO HAVE MY EYELASH EXTENSIONS REMOVED?

We do offer a service to have the extensions removed involving a short thirty-minute appointment in which we apply a gel remover. The gel remover is applied on top of the extensions without touching the skin and allowed to sit for 10 minutes. Once the adhesive is dissolved the extensions are gently wiped away with lint free applicators exposing the natural lashes.

I LIKE THE NATURAL LOOK. CAN PERMANENT MAKEUP BE DONE SO I LOOK GREAT WITHOUT LOOKING OVERDONE?

Absolutely! The most requested style of makeup is enhancement of the natural facial features. The objective of these procedures is to raise self esteem, self-confidence, and allow for a more active lifestyle. The natural look also allows you to apply normal cosmetics over your permanent makeup for color variety or for a more dramatic look if desired.

HOW LONG DOES A PROCEDURE TAKE?

Usually, each procedure appointment is one to two hours. The majority of the time is spent in selecting the appropriate color for your skin, and in measuring and artistically drawing on the planned procedure prior to actually implanting the color. Adequate time is allowed for topical anesthetic to make you completely comfortable. You will also be given thorough aftercare instructions for optimum healing and outcome.

IS THE PROCEDURE SAFE?

Unlike many technicians that sterilize and re-use needles and casings, Permanent Makeup by Susan uses all pre-packaged, sterile, and disposable, needles and needle casings. Any parts that actually touch the client, along with the medical grade needles that penetrate the skin are all pre-sterilized from the manufacturer. This ensures that you will receive the safest, most sterile form of cosmetic tattooing available. In addition, all of your procedures are done under Federal OSHA standards that regulate the sterile, safe, and healthy practices for prevention of cross-contamination from person to person.

HOW WILL I LOOK IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE PROCEDURE?

You may experience minor swelling and redness on procedure day. You may resume normal activities immediately except that you will be advised to wear no makeup directly on the treated area for about one week. The amount of redness, healing, and peeling that occurs during the first week is dependent upon on the procedure that is done.

I AM NERVOUS ABOUT IT BEING PERMANENT. HOW CAN I KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT BEFORE I HAVE IT DONE?

Makeup pencils are used in advance for your approval. I am always cautious to keep on the side of light and natural, for more color can always be added later during your 6-8 week perfecting session.
