At Beauty Lounge we love supporting other local organizations that have some of the same values as we do. This month we are loving on Florida School of Massage.

Florida School of Massage is built on the foundations of

“Live Your Dream”, “You Are Beautiful”, and “Be YOU”.

At Beauty Lounge we share these same principles.

Florida School of Massage has been cultivating new therapists to excel at massage for 40 years in Gainesville. FSM’s vision, in their own words is, “Our holistic teaching model prepares our students to become compassionate massage therapists with the skills needed to realize a successful and fulfilling career while improving the quality of lives.”

Students at FSM complete 600 hours, hands on, they are introduced and oriented to awareness based massage, learn the foundations of the bodywork, reflexology, connective tissue therapy, polarity therapy, neuromuscular therapy, sports massage, hydrotherapy and aromatherapy, as well as anatomy and physiology. Students have the opportunity to take many extracurricular classes in many massage modalities, as well. This school provides some of the best massage therapists in the country.

Some of the post-graduation certifications offered at FSM are: Sports Massage Advanced, Therapeutic Hand & Foot Reflexology Professional, Traditional Thai Massage & Ayurveda, and Biodynamic Cranial Touch.

"The school prides themselves on untraditional methods including untraditional introductions, which makes the students learn to look at the world in a more open way," said Nikki Evirs, a student of FSM and the esthetician at Beauty Lounge.

Valentine's Day is approaching and as a special treat to our followers were are offering five complementary couple's massages via a social media contest.

Current FSM students will be administering the massages to meet their unsupervised requirements, which are to be completed out-of-class. Giving current students the opportunity to gain this out-of-class experience at Beauty Lounge is our way of giving back to an organization we appreciate and support It is a win-win for our followers too because, who doesn't love a free couples massage?!
